Sid the Science Kid: The Movie on PBS 3/25 and a giveaway!

It's finally Spring break here, and that means that my husband and all my kids will be home this next week.  I love them all and I'm excited to have them home, but it also means I need to find things to occupy their time every day.

I think Monday around noon is going to be movie day, when Sid the Science Kid: The Movie airs on PBS.

Synopsis - Sid the Science Kid: The Movie follows Sid and his friend Gabriela through their adventure in The Super Ultimate Science Museum. After winning a science contest in the “Junior Investigator” category for creating an awesome science experiment, Sid and Gabriela are awarded a special inside look at the new museum before it opens to the public. Once there, they meet quirky scientist Dr. Bonabodon, voiced by guest-star Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), who has designed robot tour guides of the future, including Bobbybot, his greatest creation. Sid and Gabriela also meet Yangyang and Niuniu, from China, the winners of the “Future Scientist” category. The four young scientists observe giant honey bees, investigate robots, and even encounter a Tyrannosaurus Rex! But when their robot guide short-circuits, Sid, Gabriela,Yangyang, and Niuniu must use teamwork to save the day. Together they learn that you can be a scientist at any age and that thinking like a kid is sometimes the best way to solve a problem!

My daughter and I were able to watch a little sneak peak video this past week, and Bid absolutely loved it.  She sat on a little kids couch the whole time and took notes in her notebook.  It was super fun to see her engrossed with a science show.

As a parent, I loved that the show was educational.  It gave basic info about robots, astronomy, weather, dinosaurs, bees, probability & even some simple machines. It also teaches about teamwork and problem solving abilities.

To Buy - If you have a chance, make sure to tune in to PBS on Monday (check your local listings for time) to see the show. There will also be encore performances on March 29 and March 31.  For more info you can check out the Sid the Science Kid Facebook Page.

To win - To celebrate the release of the movie, the company is giving away a Sid Talking Plush to one of you!
